Organization Description/Mission/Purpose:

The mission of Mamas Unidas (United Moms) is to inform parents of available resources and of the steps their kids need to follow to enroll in college. Our purpose is to support students with their dreams so that they can have a better future. Since Mamas Unidas was founded, we have provided several workshops for parents, in Spanish, explaining the college enrollment process, the scholarships available, the importance of the ACT and volunteering, etc. The vision is that students can be free to decide whether they want to go to college or not, without worrying about cultural, economic or social barriers.

Description of the problem or need:

We have started a website but we would like to have it in english as well. We also need to have some type of organization so that is easy to navigate. We want to have several pages with scholarships and links for important websites such as FAFSA, and the department of higher education.

Description of deliverable requested: (E.g. website, database)

We would like to complete and organize the website. We need to advise on what tabs to have and how to organize our website so that is easy to navigate. We also want to have an English version. We can help with the translation.

http://mamasunidasar.com this is the website with what we currently have. Eventually, we want to have space where we can post educational videos, a space for questions, different pages with resources and valuable information. We don't know if what we have and the way we have it is appropriate, user-friendly or easy to navigate.

You will have two sites:

  • A well-formatted LinkedIn profile with a link to your portfolio
  • A portfolio of your work using one of the following techniques:

You can see an example of a portfolio at https://blbauer.github.io/portfolio/.

You can also see previous ITEC 4610 portfolios.
